Richard Wayne Maga
June 1st, 2021
It is with great sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of Rick Maga on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He was born, lived and worked in Red Deer for all of his 55 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Leah; mother, Norma; and brother, Andrew (Danielle); as well as special friend, Angela and her daughter, Harmony. Rick was predeceased by his father, Richard; his grandparents, Jake and Hazel Job; and grandmother, Cindy Becker.
Dad was always strongly opinionated and very stubborn, he spoke his mind without hesitation or uncertainty. He was also so organized, he had a certain way of doing things and if someone messed with his system, they would be sure to hear about it! Aside from those traites, dad had a wicked sense of humor and could be a total class clown, he created so much laughter and happiness, we will never forget the way he smiled. Even though he was a little crazy at times, it balanced out with the peaceful side of him where he was gentle and calm. His love was quiet and subtle, yet fierce and strong, the world feels a lot darker without him here. Our family misses him so very much and we'll love him always and forever.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 100, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6 or too a charity of one’s choice.
A very special thank you to the Nurse’s and Doctor’s working in the ICU at the Red Deer Hospital.
Messages:
Rick was my best friend and we treated each other like brothers and his whole family was great to me I will miss him dearly we will go hunting again one day buddy
I was shocked to hear about Rick today. He was the best neighbor and friend. I have so many good memories and just yesterday when unpacking found his house key we had so if Leah got locked out she could come to us. He was the most conscious Dad I ever knew. You have my sincere condolences on your loss.
