Lorne shared his passion for music as the Conductor of numerous school bands and played in many musical groups. His love of learning and travel led him to destinations around the world.  Time spent with family and friends, engaging in conversation, playing games and laughing remained Lorne’s most treasured memories.

Special thanks to everyone at Points West Living and Extendicare Red Deer for their love, compassion and the outstanding care they provided Lorne over the past several years.

Lorne was a protector and provider, an educator and teacher, a wiper of tears and offeror of advice, an encourager, a storyteller and a loyal friend with a laugh that healed the soul and a smile that brightened the darkest days. We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.

Messages:

Lorne is the reason I raised my family in Rimbey as he hired me to teach music here in 1990. He was always helpful and encouraging with my musical productions and classroom subjects. My deepest condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences. Being involved in the music program opened my life to so many wonderful experiences and wonderful people. I will always be greatful to have had you for a teacher.

I had Lorne for elementary school as a principal and my grade 6 band leader. I remember he also produced our Grade 6 play the Magic of Believing which would be an amazing fun time to watch if we could have ever found the recording of it. Lorne was passionate about music and as a conservatory Piano teacher he also ignited my passion for band. Our dance band "Midnight Hour" to the marching bands (I still have my uniform), to the concert bands he was always in the forefront. I'm certainly confident that the heavenly concert band is happy to have another conductor. My sincere thoughts and prayers to Lorraine and family.

Deepest condolences he made such an impact on many

Loving thoughts are sent to you all, On behalf of the Needhams.

Sincere condolences to Lorraine and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers

I have such fond memories of my Uncle Lorne. Most of all I remember his laughter and sense of humour. My mom used to take Lorne, her younger brother, under her wing especially while he was going to university. I still have the speech Lorne read at her funeral. Lorraine and family our prayers are with you. We will all miss Lorne.
