BAKER, Terrence (Terry) Robert
April 15, 1950 – July 10, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Terrence (Terry) Robert Baker announce his passing on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Terry was born April 15, 1950 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to M. Lorene (Jordan) and Harold C. Baker. Terry began his banking career in 1969 with Scotiabank, retiring in 2011. The great majority of Terry’s career was in British Columbia, with brief postings in Ontario and Alberta. His pride and joy were his children, Gillian and Kurtis, and his grandchildren Chelsea, Hayden and Silas. He was extremely proud of the successes they have built in their lives. Terry and his wife Wendy enjoyed hosting dinner parties with their many friends, many memorable times with family, as well as traveling together. Terry took great joy in cooking and is considered the master cookie baker of the family. His love and knowledge of music is well known, most especially The Beatles. Ask about a particular Beatles song and he could tell you what album and what year it was released. Besides his collection of music, Terry also had a collection of Tommy Bahama dress shirts he looked very dapper in! He was well known by friends and family alike for his unending sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Terry was predeceased by his father, Harold Baker in 1975 and his mother, Lorene Hooper in 2012. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Wendy Baker; daughter, Gillian (Dan) White of Calgary; son, Kurtis (Jenece) Baker of Stettler; his cherished grandchildren, Chelsea White, Hayden Baker and Silas Baker; and brother, James (Jim) Baker of New Zealand. A committal services will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers please. A donation to the MS Society, 105, 4807 – 50 Ave, Red Deer, AB, T4N 4A5, CNIB, 10 – 11A Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 4Z3 or the Alzheimer’s Society, 1, 5550 – 45 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1L1, is appreciated.

Dear Wendy, my sincere condolences to you and your family at this time of great loss and sorrow. I will remember Terry for his wonderful sense of humor, his brave fight, and his baking of Niemen Marcus cookies that all staff at Nordel and Kennedy looked forward to. Wishing you comfort and strength in your days ahead.
Terry was a happy and valuable co-worker at Calgary Data Centre then in Vancouver BC. My heart goes out to Terry’s Wife Wendy and his family. Arms around you from a distance. May you all have what you need during these difficult times and find peace in your beautiful memories together.
I met Terry in 1969 at the Victoria Main branch of Scotiabank. We went on to cross working paths a number of times again. At the Regional office and again at North Road and Austin. Terry’s great sense of humour will always be remembered. At at a time when woman we’re not readily accepted in Management positions Terry was ahead of the curve. He respected woman for their ability to do a good job. Oh! But we could also get ourselves into trouble, particularly when we were on the road together. Remember Kamloops Wendy! Outside the bank Terry was a good friend. His “prawns Pernod” one of his specialty dishes was delicious. Sadly these last few years have been particularly tough. You leave us with some fun & happy memories my friend. Now at Peace. Love Marilyn & Geoff
We were saddened to hear of Terry's passing but know he's now at peace & no longer suffering. We'll always cherish the many good times we shared during our visits & travels with Terry & Wendy, especially our games of Yahtzee ..... "come on Baker roll some sixes" !! Rest In Peace my friend. Love Brent & Jackie ❤️
