BROWN (GUMINY), Elizabeth Leslie
July 7, 1956 – August 7, 2022
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth Leslie Brown (Guminy) on Sunday, August 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Liz was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on July 7, 1956. Her early years were spent in Edmonton before being welcomed by the Schrader family in Calgary. She spent lots of time hiking, canoeing, camping and enjoying life in the mountains with her friends and family. She later became a ‘temporary farm girl’ to raise her three children and then was Red Deer bound. She was a very caring person, spending over 20 years working as a care provider at the Michener Centre. She met Warren in Red Deer in 2000. They enjoyed 22 years together. Liz & Warren moved to their dream property overlooking Gull Lake in 2014, and were married on July 18, 2020.
Liz is lovingly remembered by her husband, Warren of Gull Lake, AB; her mother, Ingrid of Burnaby, BC; her children, Mark (Carrey) of Airdrie AB, Darcy (Cheryl) of Armstrong, BC, and Denelle (Mike) of Calgary, AB; 6 grandchildren; and siblings, Roberta, Karen, Toni, Tracy, Jeff and Amber.
Liz was predeceased by her father, Bill; and sisters, Patty and Linda.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Meadowbrook Church, located at 421076 Hwy #792, AB, on August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM, with a luncheon following immediately at Liz & Warren’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Liz’s memory can be made to Myeloma Canada at www.myelomacanada.ca.
The family would like to say “Thank You” to the staff at the Rimbey Hospital for their passionate care and to all her friends & family for their ongoing support.
