Adonis Yaworski

October 28th, 2016

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of ADONIS YAWORSKI on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the young age of 56 years.

The memory of Adonis will be cherished by his loving wife Heather, who in Adonis’ words was the “Love of his Life”; brother Adrian (Brenda) Yaworski; sisters Celeste (Rick) Kent, Sheila (Roger) Devine, Andrea (Ken) Zelinski; and his many Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

Adonis was born in Invermay, SK on November 13, 1959.  Adonis was predeceased by his parents Rose and Edmund Yaworski.

Adonis spent his childhood years growing up in Rama, SK. He moved to Regina in 1978, that year he met Heather, he told his friends then…”I’m going to marry that girl” and he did! Adonis’s love in life was Heather, she was his world. They created many great memories with all they did together, travelling, hiking, biking, golf, skiing, snowboarding, SCUBA diving and wood carving. For those of you who were fortunate to receive one of those wood carvings….You have a very unique piece of Adonis.

Adonis retired in April 2015 from the City of Regina Transit, where he was employed for 25 years.

Heather and Adonis lived a “Fairy Tale Life” they loved each other truly!

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK.

In lieu of flowers, a donation, in Adonis’ name can be made to the Regina Humane Society. http://reginahumanesociety.ca.

I was shocked to hear of Adonis' passing. I was looking forward to his retirement, so we could spend time together, but unfortunately didn't happen. We had some great times together. I especially remember us going cycling together one beautiful summer day. We were on the east side of the bike trail, a very fast downward stretch with a sharp left turn to cross the bridge over the creek. I forgot to mention the turn and he almost missed it. He told me about it as I was ahead of him, and we both had a good laugh. Many good times in your back yard. I will miss Adonis. You be strong Heather. We'll see you on Saturday.

Hey there Heather Once again I'm so sorry about Adonis passing away, you, the family and his friends have lost a very great Husband, Brother, uncle and Friend, I do know that Adonis was a very kind and caring person, to everyone that Adonis came into contact with, i just can't say enough good things about Adonis, because the list keeps on going and going, and Heather I also know that you meant the world to Adonis, and the times that I was visiting at your guys home, I really enjoyed the talk with Adonis and you that we had, another time that I remember, is when I came over to the your guys house, and Adonis took me into the open field next to your home and we started flying his plane with the camera on it, these are the times that I will always cherish and remember, what Adonis like to do, Adonis you will be for ever missed by his wife, family, friends and co-workers of the City of Regina Transit. R.I.P there buddy, until we meet on the other side at the pearly gates.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Adonis was an amazing person and co-worker. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Heather, We are so very sad for your loss and our hearts and thoughts are with you and the Yaworski family as you move forward from this tragic loss. This is no doubt a terribly difficult time for your family. I want to highlight how important Adonis was to me personally as a kid growing up in Rama, Sk. While Adonis was 8 years older than I, he always was and amazing cousin and he took care of me as a kid and he acted as another big brother to me. I remember my brothers Daryl, Wayne and I reviewing all the hockey cards Adonis had as a kid. I remember the target practice with his 22 out the top window of Auntie Rosie's house. I remember Adonis, Daryl, Wayne, Tim Serhan (RIP) and Shaun Serhan and I snagging hamburgers from the rink in 1975 and cooking them at Auntie Rosies. I have many more memories, but the most important memory I have is of Adonis as an amazing person, cousin, big brother and someone that I will never forget. I spoke with Adonis on May 18th for just a few minutes and I am grateful for that brief conversation. I pray Adonis finds peace in heaven. I pray for you Heather and the Yaworski family that you and they find strength in each other during this difficult time. God bless you. Sincerely, Christian Nazar, Joanna, Soleil
