Evelyn May Kampert

We are heartbroken to announce that suddenly, yet peacefully our dear loving Evelyn, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away in the early hours of February 18, 2022 in her loving home in Regina, SK at the age of 77 years.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her loving husband Ferdinand of almost 60 years; children Charlene (Peter) Papaioannou, Carmicheal (Angela) Kampert, and Brennan Kampert; grandchildren Sarah, Brooklynn, Colton, Joshua and Hailey, who were her pride and joy; siblings sister-in-law Darlene Romashenko, Shirley (Dallas) Senft, Walter (Hilda) Romashenko, Gordon (Joan) Romashenko, John (Cathy) Romashenko, and Darlene Gerein. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and close friends.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents John and Olga Romashenko, her brother Eugene Romashenko and infant brother Mervin Romashenko.
Evelyn was born in Humboldt, SK the oldest of 8 children. She worked before and after school helping the neighbor’s with their small children. She met the love of her life Ferdinand Kampert milking cows while working for the neighbors. They were happily married and had 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Evelyn was the most amazing cook and baker. She loved gardening and making preserves. Her many other talents included sewing, knitting and crocheting. Every one of her children and grandchildren have a blanket made by her to keep them warm and loved forever.
Evelyn’s gentleness, kindness, generosity, precious love and beautiful soul will live on forever. She will be forever loved and always remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and experiencing the beautiful life on earth she shared with her family and friends.
