Lionel Gabriel Lang

September 7th, 2022

Lionel Gabriel Lang passed away peacefully at the Regina Pasqua Hospital on September 7, 2022 at the age of 82 years.

He was predeceased by his parents Gabe and Zita Lang; his wife’s parents Frank and Mary Horvath; his sister Dolores Kuntz; brothers-in-law Clem Kuntz, Willy Fellner, Bob Auser, and Mel Kotyk.

He will be forever remembered by his wife of almost 57 years, Vicky; sons Dean (Connie), Todd, and Trevor (Rhondean); grandsons Brady, Hayden and Griffin. He is also survived by his siblings Rita (George) Horvath, Mervyn (Gloria), Marcia Fellner, Claude (Judy), Claudia (Jerry) Labatt, Terry (Annette), Pam (Phil) Pander; Vicky’s siblings Gabe (Doreen) Horvath, Frank (Debbie) Horvath, Irene Kotyk, Sylvia (Curtis) Sanjenko; as well as a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

From a young age on the family farm, Lionel developed a strong work ethic which transferred into his work as a sheet metal worker for 39 years. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Vicky, an amazing father to his three sons, and an extremely proud grandfather to his three grandsons. He enjoyed watching sports, and he also loved attending his grandsons’ activities. Lionel and Vicky enjoyed dancing and spent many hours winning (and sometimes losing) at the Casino. Even though cancer tried its hardest, it couldn’t take away his sense of humour or the love that he had for his family and friends.

Lionel’s family would like to thank the nurses at the Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion in Lionel’s final weeks.

At Lionel’s request, a Private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hungarian Parish Cemetery, Quinton, SK. Those wishing to come celebrate Lionel’s life with his family are invited to attend a Come and Go Reception that same day on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity Parish Hall, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK.

Those wishing to make donations in Lionel’s memory can do so to a charity of their choice.

Lionel's life was far too short, but it made a big impact on the three of us, he was such a fun caring person and he had a warm smile on his face every time we met with him. Lionel in our opinion was the ultimate family man and father. We are really going to miss him.

Condolences to the family. Enjoyed many talks with Lionel during our grandsons hockey trips and games. Also found out he and I had worked on the Estevan high school when I first started working in 1969.
