James Leroy Morrison

December 23rd, 2022

Jim Morrison, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away on December 23, 2022.

Jim's numerous titles are due to his unconditional love for others and the Lord. He was always appreciative, cracking jokes and opening his heart to those around him. His compassion caught the attention of his now wife, Kay Morrison (Clark) – married 59 years (April 6,1963) and together for 64 years. His loyalty is unmatched along with his hard work ethic.

Jim was born in Chemong, SK and grew up in the Hudson Bay, SK area, beside his older brother David, younger sister Maria, and younger brother Lyman. Jim was home schooled through Grade 6 and attended Grades 7 and 8 in Hudson Bay. Jim was a hard worker and at the young age of 14 he worked at the sawmill, which was the beginning of his many adventures in different lines of work. As he grew older, he was also a cat skinner, private pilot, diesel mechanic, carpenter, janitor, building maintenance and home renovations. Jim was an astute businessman as the sales and service manager for Woods Equipment and was also elected as a town councilman.

Jim loved travelling to share the message of the Lord. This led him to some of his most special adventures; church renovations in Buenos Aires, a missionary tour of the Arctic, and a tour of Mexico with missions. His faith never failed to touch those around him and now those he has impacted get to pass on what he taught.

Jim’s interests included woodworking, gardening, hunting, and flying. Jim was a busy man with his jobs and hobbies; however, he ultimately showed the world that when you love something or someone you will make it work. Even on busy days, he showed love to his wife and 4 kids which led to 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His influence showed that with hard work and love anything is possible.

Jim will be remembered by not just his family but his friends and church family. He will have an everlasting impact on this world and on every person he met. Jim passed after a brave battle with Parkinson's disease, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Kay, 4 children Elliot (Anna-Lisa), Tom (Stacey), Leeann (Mike), and Evan and his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks because of Jim's love for children that you donate to Gentle Hands (an orphanage in the Philippines) through Kings Corner Church of God or to Gideons International (www.gideons.org).

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Kings Corner Church of God, 2110 King Street, Regina, SK. The service will be live streamed via Facebook through King’s Corner website at: www.kingscorner.ca
