Randy Tymiak
January 7th, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Randy Tymiak announce his passing. Following a hard-fought battle with cancer, and with two of his sisters holding his hands, Randy passed away on January 7, 2023 at the age of 51 years.
Randy was predeceased by his father Robert Tymiak. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Anne Tymiak; his brothers Rick Tymiak (Christine) and Terry Tymiak; his sisters Phillis Tymiak, Colleen Tymiak (Vince), and Charlene McNeill (John). He will be dearly missed by his nephews and nieces Jeff Sibbald (Britt and children Keira, Easton, and Natalie), Jason Sibbald (Sheri and children Jenaya, Kalley, and Ellie), Sarah Mann (Cat and children Florence and Dorothy), godson Brayden McNeill, Brittney McNeill, and Mackenzie Moore.
Randy grew up in Regina where he played baseball and football. A strong work ethic was instilled in him at the age of 5, when his dad took him out to work on the “big equipment”. As a young teen he found jobs at Pizza Hut and Fuddruckers. After graduating from Robert Usher Collegiate, Randy attended the U of S and the U of R for three years before finding employment with Sandy Ross Well Servicing in Kindersley. He worked there for nearly 30 years and was a Rig Manager. Randy’s employer and work friends became his family. Our family has been overwhelmed with messages of condolence from his workmates as they had nothing but respect for him. They have described Randy as a great man with strong character, an honest man with a huge degree of integrity, a great guy with a big heart, one of the kindest men they knew, their go to person, and a legend in the oil field. Someone even said the world needs a billion Randys! We love all of you for knowing our brother like we do.
Randy cheered for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and equipped many family members with jerseys. There was such a long list of things to thank Randy for, each one of us remembering how much he had supported us in so many ways. When we needed something, Randy was there for us. Sarah holds dear the time when her family lived with Randy allowing them to develop a deep family bond that held strong. Randy always took the time to play a role in his nieces’ and nephews’ lives.
One of Randy’s favourite activities was fishing. He loved going out on the boat in Lac des Iles and created many wonderful memories with Jeff and Jason, hitting the highway at 4 a.m. so they could make it out on the water right at the crack of light. They described Randy as hands down the greatest uncle ever.
Special mention to Sandy Ross, Marie Kapustianyk, Scott Ross, Mike Ross, Rikki Ross, Ray Borgal, and Cody Messervier. Our family is only meeting these wonderful people for the first time and know there may be others who we should have named here. Please know that we are so thankful for all of you for being Randy’s family in Kindersley. We also want to thank the nurses at the Kindersley Hospital who took such great care of Randy when he was in and out of the hospital, at times in excruciating pain. He always had such high praise for the nurses in Kindersley. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you to the staff at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon who helped fulfill Randy’s goal to reach Regina, the caring paramedics from Moose Jaw who made the drive to transfer him, and the compassionate doctor and nurses at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit who helped to make Randy as comfortable as possible in his final days.
As per Randy’s wishes, he has been cremated and his urn will rest with his mother. A Service will be held in Spring 2023 in Kindersley, SK.
For those wishing to make a memorial contribution, please consider the Kindersley & District Health and Wellness Foundation at Box 195, Kindersley, SK S0L 1S0 (e-transfer: kdhwfoundation@gmail.com) or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
Messages:
I want to express my condolences to the Tymiak family. Randy and I were good friends in high school. Used to do lots of cruisin in the Camaro. Take care
Dear Family Members Randy truly was a wonderful friend , coworker . He was a very kind man . We truly will miss him . Sending our deepest sympathy to you all . May he now RIP .
I have found a wallet made by an “uncle Mike Tokar” that was given to his brother’s child. I do not have much information, except a note left in it. I have only found obituaries that link people, and I hope I can connect with his family.
