Pearl Louise Elliott

Pearl Elliott
Pearl Louise Elliott 1946 – 2024

We sadly announce that Pearl Louise Elliott (nee Gardner) passed away on January 11t 2024 at the age of 77.

Pearl was born June 27, 1946 at Grenfell. SK to Jean (Foster) and Albert Gardner. She grew up at Grenfell with her three siblings - Ruth, Wayne and Debbie. Pearl from an early age learned to help and care for others. Her Mom contracted polio when Pearl was 3 and was on crutches or used a wheelchair so often needed at helping hand. Using that ability to help others, Pearl worked at the Orange Home at Indian Head for many years caring for the children that lived there.

She boarded with the Elliott family in Indian Head and liked the family so much she married Les and became part of the family. When her children were older she worked with the PFRA at the tree nursery. Pearl and Les raised their 3 children Darwin (Lisa), Ora (Wayne) and Sheena (Kelvin) at Indian Head. They rented a cabin at Katepwa Lake every summer for many years and she was so thrilled when they got to move to the lake fulltime. She loved riding on the boat, hosting croquet tournaments and watching the kids and grandkids playing and visiting with her many friends. Because Pearl and Les never liked road trips, they hosted many family gatherings at both the lake and their house in town. Many beer and many butter tarts were consumed! They did go to Las Vegas several times as well as to Hawaii and to St. Lucia but home was always her favorite place.

Pearl in later years suffered from "spinocerebellar ataxia" which caused mobility problems and affected her speech. This slowed her down a lot but with help from Les and her family she got to continue doing the things she loved.

Pearl was predeceased by her mom Jean Gardner, brother Wayne Gardner and her brother-in-law Bob Perrin. Left to mourn is her husband of 56 years, Les Elliott, her children; Darwin (Lisa), Ora (Wayne) and Sheena (Kelvin), her 10 grandchildren and her 2 great-grandchildren, her sisters Ruth (Claire) Rein and Debbie Perrin, along with her special sister-in-law Lola Rogers.

Due to Pearls wishes, there will be no Funeral Service held.
